New: Share your availability and find match times faster

Planning matches should not mean endless group chats. You can now share when you are free and quickly spot times that work for your group.

Finding a good match time can be weirdly hard.

Everyone wants to play. Then the chat starts: “Tuesday maybe?”, “I can only after work”, “Sunday morning is possible”, “Actually, I forgot I’m away.” After a few messages, nobody is quite sure what still works.

So we added a better way to handle this inside Tennis-Liga: shared availability.

How it works

When you are in an active round, you can open the availability view from your lobby and mark the times when you can play. The calendar covers the round period and splits each day into simple time slots: morning, midday, afternoon, and evening.

You do not have to fill in every day. Just mark the slots that are realistic for you. If your week changes, update it later. The newest version is what your group sees.

See where your schedules overlap

The useful part is the shared overview. Tennis-Liga compares your availability with the other players in your round and shows the slots you have in common.

That means less scrolling through old messages and less guessing. You can quickly see: “Okay, we both marked Thursday evening”, or “Sunday morning looks good for this match.”

For doubles teams, a slot only counts when both players on the team are available. That matters, because otherwise you end up with a time that works for one partner but not the other. We wanted the overview to reflect the way matches are actually arranged.

A small feature, but a useful one

This is not meant to replace talking to your opponent. You will probably still send a message to agree on the exact court and time. But the first question, “When can you play?”, should now be much easier to answer.

We also use availability reminders, so players who have not filled in anything yet get a gentle nudge. The goal is simple: the more people add their availability early, the quicker everyone can plan their matches.

Why we built it

One thing we hear again and again is that players enjoy the matches, but arranging them can take too much energy. That is especially true in busy weeks, and even more so when a round has several matches waiting to be planned.

Availability is our attempt to remove a bit of that friction. Nothing fancy. Just a clearer way to say when you can play, and a quicker way to find a time that works.

If you are currently in a round, open your lobby and add a few slots. Your future opponent will thank you. Probably silently, but still.
